This guide will help you configure Connection search results by setting up what **Salesforce Objects** are defined in the search as well as what **Salesforce Fields** are searchable.

## Add a Salesforce object to the search results

1. Go to **Settings** > **Add-ons/Manage apps**.
2. In the sidebar, under *SALESFORCE,* select **Connections**.
3. Choose the connection you want to configure and click **Configure**.
4. At the *Connection Configuration* window, scroll down to locate the *Available Salesforce Objects* and click **+Add Salesforce Object**.

An *Add Salesforce Object* window pops up

5. Enter or select your required **Salesforce Object**, and click **Next**.
6. Enter the **Salesforce Field** you want to add, and click **Add. **

> ⚠️ You can add multiple Salesforce fields if needed.

7. Click** Next **when you have added all required fields.
You are brought back to the *Connection Configuration* window, where the **Salesforce Objects** you’ve just added are listed.
8. To implement the configuration, click **Apply Changes**.
If the changes were applied successfully, the **Salesforce Object** you just added appears as a [searchable Salesforce Object in the Associate Object window](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/477986818/pages/2560557214).

## Add a Salesforce field to an existing object

1. In the sidebar, under *CONNECTOR FOR SALESFORCE,* select **Connections**
2. At the **Salesforce Connections** screen, go to the **Connection** you want to configure **> Options Menu > Configure:**

3. At the **Connection Configuration** screen, locate the Salesforce Object desired and click **Fields** to continue configuration.

4. In the **Salesforce Field** search box, enter the **Salesforce Field** you want to add, and click **Add**.

5. When the new **Salesforce Field** is added, remember to click **Apply Changes**.

## Render object details instead of object ID

In some scenarios, you might want to show object details (for example, the User full name) instead of the object ID in the Details View dialog.

For example, if you add a **Created By** field for **Case** object, it will appear as an ID like this:

To replace the ID with something meaningful, add the object to the **Available Salesforce Objects**, which in this case is a User object:

The Connector uses this configuration to automatically translate the object ID:

Notice the primary field is automatically chosen to replace the object ID.
