## Overview

The global configuration dashboard is to configure the permissions settings for snapshot publishing. Configuration includes setting

- users who can create and manage snapshot collections (**Collection Manager** group)
- spaces that can use snapshot publishing

> 📝 Global configuration includes generating a user access token if your instance uses Snapshot publishing with Comala Document Management Data Center in an instance using Confluence 9.

## Permissions settings

Choose **Edit** to configure snapshot publishing settings.

**Collection Manager**

- configure the Confluence groups that can generate snapshots
- only users who are members of this group can use snapshot publishing in a space (and can access the [snapshot publishing space dashboard](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/AHP/pages/649530532))

> 📝 You must also have space administrator permission in a space
> 📝
> 📝 - to create a snapshot collection in the space (**Add Collection** option in the [snapshot publishing space dashboard](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/AHP/pages/649530532))
> 📝 - to link a collection to the space (**Link Collection** dropdown menu option in the [snapshot publishing space dashboard](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/AHP/pages/649530532))

**Select one or more spaces**

- list the spaces (by spacekey) where snapshot publishing can be used
- by default, **ANY** space in the instance can use snapshot publishing

## Configuration for Confluence 9 or higher

> ⚠️ Providing a valid value in this setting is mandatory in order to make all the Snapshot Publishing functionalities work as expected in Confluence v9+

If your instance uses Confluence v9 and later, you need to use this option to set a [personal access token](https://confluence.atlassian.com/enterprise/using-personal-access-tokens-1026032365.html) to use Snapshot Publishing. This token must belong to a user that has Confluence admin permissions to ensure that they will have the necessary permissions in any space of the instance.

When a valid user and token are set, the configuration can be saved, and all the snapshots functionalities will work as expected.

> 📝 If only one of the fields is empty, the configuration cannot be saved, and an error message indicates one of the values is missing.

This option is not available for instances using Confluence v8 and earlier.
