Referenced assets are the selected assets on **Asset List** and **Asset List by Asset Types** attributes.

**Differences between**** ****Reference Assets (asset attributes) and **[**Asset Links**](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/AIP/pages/10256868)

- Links are great for generic and flexible asset linking. You can define as many link types as you wish and you can link any asset to another.
- Asset attributes are great for structural data: It is displayed as a field for asset type where users see and enters data, and you can make it mandatory.
