The General Configuration page allows you to customize various aspects of the app such as editing the settings related to CSV imports, date/time formats, reference asset fetch methods, and more.

## Prerequisites

- You must be a [Jira administrator](https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/managing-global-permissions-776636359.html) to carry out the instructions on this page.

## Access the General Configuration page

1. From the Jira top menu, click **Assets** > **Settings**.
2. Select **General Configuration **from the** **side menu.
3. Click the **Edit Settings **button. A pop-up displaying the settings appears.
4. Consider the following options to customize your asset management experience:

### General view settings

| **Default view type** | Sets the initial view for browsing assets. | List view, Detail view |

| **Asset list default sort field** | Define the field by which assets are initially sorted in the list view. | Asset Name, Asset Type, Asset ID, Status, and more |
| **Asset list default sort order** |  | Ascending, Descending |
| **Show My Assets link at system filters menu** | Enable or disable a shortcut link for users to quickly access their assigned assets within the system filters menu. | Yes / No |
| **Show asset type number (Example: On create asset screen)** | Control whether the asset type number is displayed alongside the asset type name (helpful for users managing multiple asset types). | Yes / No |

### Date time settings

| **Date format** | Set the preferred format for displaying dates within the app (default is DD.MM.YYYY). |  |

### More settings

| **Upload size limit of an attachment (MB)** | Set the maximum file size allowed for attachments associated with assets. |  |
| **Default currency** | This will be the app’s default currency. |  |
| **JSD Admin User** | Start typing to search for users and select the admins. |  |

5. Click **Save**.
