This page explains the migration details for the Timesheets for Jira app content from Jira Data Center to the Jira Cloud.

- Currently, Appfire **does not provide a direct migration path **for Timesheets for Jira from the Data Center to the cloud using JCMA.
- It is recommended to:
 - Install and configure the Timesheets for Jira app on the cloud and manually recreate the reports.

> 📝 - **Alternative solution**: Appfire **recommends** **using** **the Reports and Timesheets for Jira app** as your reporting solution.
> 📝 - [Reports and Timesheets for Jira](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ART) is a **superset of the Timesheets for Jira **app and includes all the features you currently use, plus additional advanced reporting capabilities.
> 📝 - It supports the Data Center to cloud migration, using JCMA. For more information, refer to [Migration to cloud](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ART/pages/334364673).
> 📝 - Contact our [support team](https://appf.re/support) if you have any questions.

## Pre-requisites

- Administrator privileges are required for both the Data Center and Jira Cloud instances.
- Install the latest version of the [Timesheets for Jira](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1213798/timesheets-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview) app on your cloud instance.
- The administrator must provide users with app access and the required permissions in the cloud instance to create reports.

## Manual migration process

Before you begin, ensure that all prerequisites are completed. Refer to [Prerequisites](#Pre-requisites).

### Configure the Timesheets for Jira app on cloud

- Configure the administration settings in the cloud app to align with the configuration used in the Data Center instance of Timesheets for Jira. For more information, refer to the [Administrator guide](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ART/pages/1581483096).

### Recreate reports in the Timesheets for Jira app on cloud

- Configure all required data (such as calculated fields, teams, approvers, and Jira custom fields).
- Admins and users can manually recreate the required timesheet reports in the cloud app, referring to the data from the app on the Data Center instance. For more information about creating reports, refer to the [Time Tracking Report](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ART/pages/1577124390).

## Limitations

- The pending and past timesheets and timesheet approvals cannot be recreated in the cloud app. However, you can initiate new timesheet approvals.
- Report subscriptions must be set up again, and reports must be re-shared with users and teams as required.

## Difference between Data Center and cloud version

To know the difference between the Timesheets for Jira app’s Data Center and cloud version, refer to [Reports and Timesheets for Jira: Data Center and cloud feature comparison](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ART/pages/2555971175).
