## Before changing the setting

The following steps are strongly recommended before you change the **Fix week start day for users on 'Timesheets' screen** setting. The system allows the change even if pending submissions remain, but clearing them first avoids confusion.

> ℹ️ When you change the setting in **App Settings**, a warning message appears to notify administrators of existing pending approvals.

1. **Resolve pending approvals (recommended)**. Ask users to submit pending timesheets, and ask approvers to approve or reject them in **Pending Approvals**.
2. **Notify users and approvers.** Tell the team that week boundaries will shift. Transition weeks can show mixed statuses even when the pending queue is empty.
3. **Choose a low-activity window. **Make the change at the start or end of a pay period where possible, not mid-cycle.

## After updating the setting

> 📝 **Submit**, **Approve**, and **Withdraw** always apply to the entire displayed timesheet, not to individual days. You can't submit, approve, or withdraw individual days within a mixed status timesheet.

1. After changing the setting, you can see a mixed status timesheet during the transition week. This happens when the displayed week includes days you already submitted, that are pending approval, approved, or rejected under the previous configuration, along with days you haven't submitted under the new week boundaries. The app keeps each day's status and shows them together in one timesheet, so you can see which days are covered and which still need action.
2. *Team Status* shows partial-week labels such as **Partially submitted**, **Partially approved**, and **Partially rejected**.
3. *My Timesheet* doesn't use partial-week labels. Mixed weeks appear through status banners and action buttons instead.
4. Rejected days appear highlighted in red, to quickly identify the entries that need correction before resubmission.
5. **Review after the change**. Spot check representative weeks (approved, pending, rejected, and mixed) in *My Timesheet* and *Team Status*.

## My Timesheet: Mixed status week scenarios

*My Timesheet* doesn't display **Partially submitted**, **Partially approved**, or **Partially rejected**. Those labels appear on *Team Status* only. Each panel below shows a common combination of day statuses, what you see, and the action to take.

Each panel below shows the display label on *Team Status*, which hours count, and the actions available to submitters and approvers.

## Consolidated timesheet history

The **History** menu shows a single chronological timeline by combining events from all submission records that contribute to the displayed week. For a mixed status timesheet, actions such as **Submit**, **Withdraw**, and **Auto Approve** carry a **(mixed status timesheet)** label, so you can tell transition-week activity apart after the setting changes.

## FAQ

<details>
<summary>Why does my week show more than one status?</summary>

The displayed week spans a change to the **Fix week start day for users on 'Timesheets' screen** setting, so it includes days you submitted, approved, or rejected under the old boundaries alongside days that fall under the new ones. The app keeps each day's original status and shows them together.
</details>

<details>
<summary>Can I submit or approve only the days that still need action?</summary>

No. **Submit**, **Approve**, and **Withdraw** apply to the entire displayed timesheet, never to individual days.
</details>

<details>
<summary>Why don't I see the partial-week labels on my own timesheet?</summary>

The **Partially submitted** and **Partially approved** labels appear on *Team Status* only. On *My Timesheet*, mixed weeks appear through status banners and action buttons instead.
</details>

<details>
<summary>An approver rejected some days. What do I do?</summary>

A rejection banner appears with the approver's comment, and the rejected days are highlighted in red. Correct the flagged days, then submit the entire timesheet again.
</details>

<details>
<summary>How can I tell which history entries belong to a transition week?</summary>

In the **History** menu, actions tied to a mixed week carry a **(mixed status timesheet)** label.
</details>
