This page outlines the migration details from the Jira Data Center to the Jira Cloud using [Jira Cloud Migration Assistant](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1222010/jira-cloud-migration-assistant?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview) for WDC(Legacy) connectors.

## Pre-requisites

- Admin privileges are required for both the Data Center and Jira Cloud instances.
- Install [Jira Cloud Migration Assistant](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1222010/jira-cloud-migration-assistant?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview) on the Data Center instance from which you intend to migrate. For more information, refer to [What is Jira Cloud Migration Assistant?](https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/what-is-jira-cloud-migration-assistant/)
- Before migrating, we recommend reading this Atlassian[ Cloud migration guide ](https://www.atlassian.com/migration/plan/cloud-guide)to plan your migration.

## Migration process

1. Install the [Jira Cloud Migration Assistant](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1222010/jira-cloud-migration-assistant?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview) on the Jira Data Center instance, refer to [Prerequisites](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/APBCFJ/pages/850133325/Migration+from+Data+Center+to+cloud#Pre-requisites).
2. Navigate to the **Migration Assistant home** screen: **System **> I**MPORT AND EXPORT **>** Migrate to cloud***.**** ***With the help of the Migration Assistant, migrate data such as projects, users, and groups as required. To migrate, follow the steps outlined on this page: [Migrate your data](https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/use-the-jira-cloud-migration-assistant-to-migrate/#5.-Migrate-your-data).
3. The Jira Cloud Migration Assistant offers two migration options. We recommend selecting the **Choose what to migrate** option, as it provides you with the flexibility to select exactly what you want to migrate.
4. Once the migration is complete, review your projects on the cloud. Check and set up the users and group permissions as needed. For more information, refer to [After you migrate](https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/use-the-jira-cloud-migration-assistant-to-migrate/#After-you-migrate).

> 📝 Data migration from the Jira Data Center to the cloud is independent of application installation or configuration in your cloud instance. We recommend that administrators verify that all your data (projects and user configurations) are displayed properly after the migration process is completed.

5. Install the [Tableau Connector Pro for Jira](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1214641/tableau-connector-pro-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview) application on the cloud instance. Refer to [Installation](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ATCFJ/pages/1037303831).

- Approve OAuth access, and the Web Data Connector URL is generated. See [My Connectors](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ATCFJ/pages/1047232612).
- Use the Web Data Connector URL to [Import data into the Tableau Desktop](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ATCFJ/pages/1066795588).
