## App overview

BigGantt is a powerful project and portfolio management tool that integrates seamlessly with [Jira solutions](https://support.atlassian.com/jira-work-management/docs/what-is-the-jira-family-of-applications/) to help teams manage projects, resources, and priorities efficiently, whether you're working on a single project or overseeing an entire portfolio. The multi-level [security roles](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BGdcDRAFT/pages/2613553481) ensure no unauthorized person will access the app or your initiative.

With BigGantt, you can visualize your projects through Gantt charts, roadmaps, and customizable task structures, enabling clear planning and tracking. It supports [agile, traditional, hybrid, and custom](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BGdcDRAFT/pages/2613548457) project management methods, allowing teams to adapt to their preferred workflows.

The main driving force behind the app’s flexibility and unprecedented control is so-called [boxes](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BGcDRAFT/pages/3538521923), which allow organizing initiatives, deliverables, risks, teams, and objectives, much like sorting photos into collections. Each box comes with its individual security roles and settings, allowing you to adjust your box to perfectly fit your initiative and the teams involved. 

## BigGantt modules

BigGantt offers two modules designed to streamline project and portfolio management. 

### Overview

The [Overview module](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BGdcDRAFT/pages/2613570561), or command center, provides a holistic and comprehensive overview of the individual projects, programs, portfolios, and initiatives managed in your organization.

This module lets you can quickly access various boxes, modules, and their configurations. It also provides time-tracking details and summarized data for the visible boxes.

### Gantt

It lets you create detailed Gantt charts and roadmaps, plan tasks, set dependencies, and track progress. This provides a clear overview of project schedules and helps ensure timely project delivery.

It offers flexible features like drag-and-drop scheduling, resource capacity overview, critical path tracking, and the possibility to visualize iterations/sprints directly on the Gantt chart.
