## Sort tasks in the Gantt module

Jira issues and basic tasks can be sorted in ascending or descending order. The sorting function also affects the taskbars.

The tasks are sorted by the respective column that is present in the column view. If you add more columns to your active view, more sorting options will become available.

### Sort by (button)

1. Click the **Sort by** button.
2. From the dropdown menu, select the value by which you want to sort your tasks.

### Sort by (on the column)

1. Mouseover the column header.
2. An arrow displays. Click the **down arrow** to sort the tasks in ascending order.

When the sorting is applied, an arrow is marked with a yellow dot.

3. Click the arrow again to reverse the sorting order.

## Remove Sorting by

- If you used the **Sort by** button, select the None option to revert your tasks to their original order.
- If you used the arrow on the column header, click the yellow button to revert your tasks to their original order.
