Pages or blog posts that have previously been reviewed and are in the **Rejected** state must be reviewed again.

The **Approve button** transitions the document to the **Approved** state. However, the **Reject button** leaves the document in the **Rejected** state.

A reviewer rejection decision is seen as a breadcrumb in the page sub-title, and the user avatar, with the decision appended, is added to the approval state dialog box:

The rejection decision, although it does not cause a transition to a different state, is recorded in the approval **[page activity](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDALS/pages/649823361)**.

As in the **Review** content review, you can choose to assign, reassign, and unassign reviewers using the** Add reviewer** option next to the **Approve** and **Reject** buttons. If a reviewer has already been assigned, the assign option is simply the ➕ button.

## Updating rejected content in the Rejected state

Although a rejected decision in the content review does not cause a state transition, if the page or blog post in the Rejected state is edited and the page is saved, the approval workflow automatically transitions the document to the **Review** state for further editing and review.
