## Overview

Use this option to add an approval to an individual page or blog post.

> 📝 This option is only available when a [space approval](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDALS/pages/649757021) is not active in the space.

## Adding an approval

Open the page tools menu:

- Go to a page and choose the three-dot menu icon
- Select **Add Approval **from the menu

Appears for pages and blog posts:

- Only when space approval is inactive
- Only for users who can **edit** or **administer** the content

The approval workflow is added to the individual page or blog post. Once added, you can interact with it using the [approval status byline](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDALS/pages/649920854).

The initial state of the page or blog post is the **Review** state.
