## Overview

If a content review is present in a workflow state, the [workflow state dialog ](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDMC/pages/2193129918)will display an option to **approve** or **reject** the content.

## approved transition

An **approved transition** moves a page from a review state (such as Review or Draft) to the next state (such as Approved or Published) after all assigned reviewers have approved the content.

## rejected transition

A **rejected transition** occurs when one or more reviewers (assigned users) reject the content during a review.

The **approved** and **rejected** transitions are only available when the state contains an approval (content review). States may have one or more or all of the different types of transitions - for example, a state can include a content review with **approved** and **rejected** transitions together with an updated transition in case the content is edited.

A page does **not** transition directly **from Approved to Rejected**. However, during the **review process**, the workflow can go:

- **From a Review state to an Approved state** - if all reviewers approve.
- **From a Review state to a Rejected or Rework state** - if any reviewer rejects.

For example,

Let’s say a page enters the **Content Review** state. Two reviewers are assigned.

- If **both reviewers click “Approve”**, the page transitions to the **approved** state.
- If **one reviewer clicks “Reject”**, the page transitions to a r**ejected** state, depending on the workflow configuration.
