These can be enabled (active) or made inactive for the instance by the Confluence administrator.  > > Active workflow templates are available for space administrators to add to the [space tools Document Management dashboard](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649827041) in each space. - **NOT** **listed** on the [page workflow templates](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649827962) dashboard - **NOT** **available** to add to the space workflows document management dashboard in any space | | Setting a workflow template as inactive in the global workflow templates dashboard prevents the workflow from being added to any space.
> ℹ️ Disabling the global workflow template *does not disable the linked global scope workflow already added in a space*.
Deleting a workflow in the global workflow templates dashboard
- Removes the linked (global scope) workflow in a space, but - Does **NOT delete** any copy (space scope) of the workflow in a space | ## Workflow content label If a workflow is labeled (see `label` parameter on [workflow macro](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649662219)), a label lozenge** **is displayed next to the workflow title in the dashboard. ![image](media://6445c8be-8581-4b82-ab0d-37bf0d3408b0) The label filters the application of the workflow to content with the label. ## Spaces linked to the global workflow template The **Linked** column provides details of how many spaces are using the workflow. If a single space is using the workflow (global scope in the space workflows document management dashboard) the space key is displayed as a hyperlink to the space workflows dashboard in the space using the workflow. ![image](media://6a9d0cf9-0afc-4538-8f73-d5dbe4c05bb2) If there is more than one linked space, choose the number shown to display a list of the associated spaces. ![image](media://c9b4facd-5ae7-43a0-8a4d-0b1c92971f28) Linked spaces are when the global workflow template is either - Added as a global scope workflow in the space - Linked to the space category of the space ## Space Categories The **Space Categories** column lets the global administrator [link the workflow to one or more space categories](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649629354). When creating a new space, workflows can be added to a space based on the space category. ![image](media://b348cb89-1ef3-4e4c-87cc-41c49de0af25) Workflows can be [linked to existing spaces using space categories](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649629354) by: - adding one or more space categories to the workflow list entry in the global workflow templates dashboard - choosing **Link workflow...** in the action menu to [link the workflow to the space category](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649629354) **Link workflow..**. is only active if the global workflow template has a space category added. Each global workflow template can be linked to more than one space category. ## Actions menu The **Actions** column provides options for interacting with the workflow itself. ![image](media://0ce82ae2-6c7e-4788-b93a-673120f18608) - **Edit** allows editing of the workflow and opens workflow builder and the markup editor (for help with editing workflows, see [Workflow Authoring Guide](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/648611901)) - **Copy** makes a new, deactivated copy of the workflow - **Remove** deletes the global workflow, also deleting it from any **Linked** spaces - **Link workflow...** links the workflow to space categories. Only active if **Space Categories** has at least one space category added. Any linked spaces will be displayed in the **Link** column ## Create a new workflow The **+ Create Workflow** button lets you to create a completely new workflow from scratch using the workflow builder and the markup editor. ![image](media://756b7474-a7f1-4a0b-ae45-a65aafbf0d4c) A global administrator may also use the [Import Workflows dashboard](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649857980) to import a workflow to the global workflows templates dashboard from the [Comala Workflows Exchange repository](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CWE). > 📝 To import workflows the global administrator must be a member of a Confluence group added to **Workflow Importer Group**.
