## Overview

When assigning a reviewer in a content review, you can assign a **role**. This descriptive role can help your team understand why they have been assigned as a reviewer.

> ℹ️ This option is only displayed when the **Enable Roles** option is configured for an approval by a workflow editor.

## How do I know if I can assign a role to a reviewer?

Look for the **Role** dialogue box next to the user when assigning a user:

## Assigning a role to a reviewer

Click the **Role **option on the [workflow state dialog box](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649659846) and enter the name for the role of the reviewer.

- choose **Create ".*****.role_name...*****"**
- select** Assign**

If roles have already been added for any previous reviewers, these are available as an option choice.
