This tab allows a space administrator to customize the space-level notification settings. These apply to all workflows used in the space (when the workflow is applied in either [page mode](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649628831) or [space mode](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649531846)). ![cdmdc_spaceconfig_notifications_slack_extract.png](media://80ff7590-f53a-46e5-b135-9eeafa8acb1b) A Confluence administrator defines the default settings at the global level, but[ a](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/650150846) [space administrator](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/650314379) can override these at the space level. > ℹ️ For a user to receive any notifications when assigned to a task, an approval, or a read confirmation, the user needs at least the **Pages - Add** permission in the space. ## Settings For most use cases, the notifications should be set to **Default**. The default setting uses the global settings defined in [Notifications - Global](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649530054). > 📝 If you are using customized notifications, usually using the [send-email macro](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649924039) in a [workflow trigger](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649859133), this potentially causes duplicate emails for the same events.
