This release of Chat for Jira Service Management (version 2.12.9) includes an improvement to password resetting.

## Improvements

The following improvement is included in this release:

### Password reset support for portal-only users

Password reset is now fully handled by Atlassian, building on the change introduced in the April 2026 release. When a user lands on the *customer portal login* page and enters their email address, their next steps depend on their account type:

- Portal-only users see a **Reset password** button on the *customer portal login* page.
- Users with an Atlassian account are redirected to the *Atlassian account login* page, where they can reset their password.
