For more detailed instructions, refer to the [official Meta guide](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/whatsapp/cloud-api/get-started). ## Prerequisites - Ensure that you are registered as a Meta developer to access the WhatsApp Business platform. - [Enable two-factor authentication](https://www.facebook.com/help/148233965247823) for your account. ## Step 1: Create a Meta app 1. Go to [http://developers.facebook.com](http://developers.facebook.com) >** My Apps **>** Create App**. Follow the prompts on your screen, select the `Business` type, and create your app. 2. Locate the WhatsApp product on the newly created app's dashboard and click **Set up**. 3. Next, you will see the option to select an existing Business Manager (if you have one) or, if you would like, the onboarding process can create one automatically for you (you can customize your business later, if needed). Make a selection and click **Continue**. Your Meta app with the WhatsApp product is now created! ## Step 2: Send a test message 1. Navigate to the **WhatsApp** > **API Setup.** 2. Select your WhatsApp number or test phone number in the **From** field. 3. Add the phone number you would like to message in the *To* field by clicking **Manage phone number list**. 4. Click **Generate access token** at the top if the field is currently empty. 5. Click **Send Message** to send the first message.
