## Enabling read confirmation in the workflow

Edit the workflow using workflow builder to enable or disable read confirmation in the workflow.

<span style="color: #172b4d">Read confirmation will be added on an </span>**Approve**<span style="color: #172b4d"> decision transition to the final state, </span>**Approved**.

<span style="color: #172b4d">In the final state, readers can be edited through the </span>[read confirmation popup](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/createpage.action?spaceKey=comalacdcls&title=Read%20Confirmation%20Popup&linkCreation=true&fromPageId=649534333)<span style="color: #172b4d">.</span>

<span style="color: #172b4d">By default, workflow read confirmations are added every time an </span>**Approve**<span style="color: #172b4d"> decision transition to the final state occurs.</span>

## Simple Approvals workflow read confirmation configuration

Read confirmation in the simple approvals workflow can be configured to <span style="color: #172b4d">enable reviewers' choice in the final review state approval to add a requested read confirmation to the final state.</span>

<span style="color: #172b4d">A </span><span style="color: #172b4d">**Request read confirmation**</span><span style="color: #172b4d"> option is available in the workflow popup for the reviewer.</span>

- <span style="color: #172b4d"> from the </span>**Review **<span style="color: #172b4d">state.</span>

<span style="color: #172b4d">The </span><span style="color: #172b4d">**Rejected**</span><span style="color: #172b4d"> state is configured to be hidden from the progress tracker path. It is only displayed in the popup progress tracker bar for this workflow when the content is in the </span><span style="color: #172b4d">**Rejected**</span><span style="color: #172b4d"> state.</span>

<span style="color: #172b4d">By default, the reviewer will see the </span>**Request read confirmation**<span style="color: #172b4d"> option in the workflow popup. This option can be disabled in the workflow read confirmation configuration.</span>
