## Overview

<span style="color: #172b4d">The read confirmation dialog box lets you add and remove requested read confirmations (readers).</span>

## Add a new reader

- <span style="color: #172b4d">Choose the dialog box three-dot menu.</span>
- Select **Edit readers**

- Search for users to add as new readers.

- Select one of the users listed, or search for additional users

- Select **Save** to add the users as readers

The new read confirmation request notification is confirmed in an on-screen message.

The new readers are added to the read confirmation dialog box.

Adding a user as a new reader:

- Sends an email notification to the reader
- Displays a temporary on-screen message each time the new reader views the document and they have not yet confirmed
- Displays a read confirmation status message on the documentthe  contextualised to the user and read confirmation status

The user also has the read confirmation assignment added to their user profile’s **Read Assignments** screen.

Adding a new reader does not change any existing due date for the completion of the requested read confirmation.

## Remove a reader

<span style="color: #172b4d">In the read confirmation dialog box:</span>

- <span style="color: #172b4d">Choose the three-dot menu.</span>
- Select **Edit readers**

In the dialog box

- Clear the checkbox for the user to be removed

- choose **Save**
