# New feature

### Space setting - User permissions for publishing

A space administrator can select which [user permissions in the target space are used for a publishing action](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/1433075760):

- the app add-on user’s permissions
- the permissions of the user who triggers the action

Pages are published using the selected user’s permissions in the target space.

This choice is configured through a dropdown in the space publishing dashboard.

When the Comala Confluence Cloud app add-on user is designated as the publishing user, users do not need edit permissions in the target space to perform single-page or space-wide publishing actions.

> ✅ This can support compliance for the published documents, with only the app add-on user requiring edit permission in the target space.

On the published target space page, the Comala Publishing add-on user is shown as the user who last updated the page. When first publishing a page, the app add-on user is also shown as the target space page owner.
