## Scenario

> **Republishing a page that was already archived on the target space**  
> In case you accidentally or intentionally archive a page on your target space, you won't be able to re-publish that page from your source space again.

Publishing a source space page that has been archived will display an error message.

## Problem

Although the published page is archived, Comala Publishing recognizes that the published page still exists. The source space page retains the publishing status when the target space page is archived but Confluence Cloud does not allow read/write operations on an archived page so a publishing action cannot be made to the target space archived page. 

You will need to either restore the old page from the target space archive or delete it and  publish a new copy.

## Workaround

To republish the source space page, you can either

- **Restore the archived page** in the target space. The previous page publishing sync status is maintained if there have been no changes on the source space page. Any changes whilst the target space page is archived will set the publishing status to **Out of Sync**
- **Delete the archived page** to set the source space page publishing status to **New**. You can then republish the source space page to create a new published page

> ℹ️ Restoring the archived target space page retains the contentID for the published page. Deleting and republishing the source space page creates a new target space page with a new contentID.

> 📝 Comala Publishing in Confluence Cloud does not publish archived pages from the source space. If the source page is archived this does not remove or archive the target space page.
