A space administrator can configure a space to publish pages to a target space in the space settings publishing dashboard.

> 📝 The space administrator requires space administrator permission in the selected space to add it as a target space.

## Enable publishing from a source space

Once the app is installed, you can enable the publishing of pages between two spaces in the [space settings publishing dashboard](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646252290).

First, you must [add a ](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646219345)**[Target Space](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646219345)** in the source space publishing dashboard.

This is accessed by choosing the source space **Space** **Settings>App links>Publishing**.

> ✅ For a space with no current target space configured, space administrators can choose the **Configure Publishing** button to use the [space publishing configuration setup tool](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646774970) to add the target space.

The target space is the destination space where the pages are published.

> ℹ️ Comala Publishing cannot publish from a space already set as a target space for publishing.

The **Target space** dropdown menu automatically displays spaces where the current user has space administrator permission.

A space can also be searched by name.

If the current user does not have **view** and **edit** permission for a space, it is unavailable in the dropdown menu's options.

> 📝 Comala Publishing cannot be used to add a new target space that is currently *being used as an existing target or source space*.

Selecting a space to [add as a target space](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646219345) already configured as a source or target space displays a warning message, and the **Change** button is disabled.

The [publishing configuration must be cleared](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646742317) from the selected space to add it as a target space for a new source space.

Once the target space is added, the space administrator can review and update the publishing configuration

- [disable publishing for the space](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646644089)
- [change the target space](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646971563)
- [select the user permissions for publishing](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/1433075760) (by default, publishing uses the app add-on user permissions in the target space)
- [disable single-page publishing in the space](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646252212)
- [filter space publishing to pages in an applied Comala workflow final state](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/1367900293)
- [publish all the pages in a space](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/647038008)

**Space publishing** lets the space administrator publish all the pages in the space using the **Publish space** button.

Making **Enable** **publishing** inactive prevents both **single-page publishing **and **space publishing** in the space and hides these options in the publishing dashboard.

> 📝 Comala Publishing is designed to publish pages to an “**empty**” target space (except for the space homepage). Although a space with existing pages can be configured as a target space, setting a target space with some existing title pages that are the same as in the source space can cause publishing issues.
