> ℹ️ The **Configure Publishing** button is only displayed if no target space has been added to the publishing app space settings.

Once a [target space is configured](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646251946) for a space, publishing is enabled for the space by default.

> 📝 When adding a target space, the** Enable Publishing**, **Copy content properties, Enable single-page publishing** options, and the option to **Space Publish** are all displayed and enabled by default.

## Publishing settings and options

#### [Enable publishing](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646251946)

![cpc_publishingdasboard_extract_enavlepublishing_active.png](media://868966f2-3a9d-46ae-b6fd-963ff59bcc1b)

Enables the publishing of pages from the current space (source space) to a target space

- disabled by default if a target space has not been configured

Adding a target space automatically sets **Enable publishing** as enabled and allows the publishing of pages.

> 📝 The** Enable publishing** option allows publishing using the app, including single-page publishing, space publishing, and publishing using a Comala workflow.

Disabling the **Enable publishing** option

- disables all publishing features of the app, including single page publishing, space publishing, and publishing using a Comala workflow
- hides the **Copy content properties **option, **Enable single page publishing** option and, the **Space Publishing** option

#### [Target space](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646219345)

![cpc_publishingdasboard_extract_targetspace_added.png](media://e9d6f06f-b9b4-4e7a-8123-b9bc6ecb0fc5)

Select the target space where the source pages are published and synced. Use the dropdown menu to select a target space and choose **Change**. Only spaces where the current user has space administrator permission are displayed as options in the menu.

> 📝 A target space must be added to allow access to the publishing dashboard settings.

When changing the target space, if a space administrator lacks the necessary permissions in that target space, the source space dashboard options are disabled, and a message appears indicating insufficient permissions

> ℹ️ If the space administrator attempts to change from an existing target space, refreshing the dashboard page returns the app space settings to the existing target space configuration.

#### [User permissions for publishing](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/1433075760)

![cpc_userpermissionsforpublishing_dropdownmenu_options.png](media://207a230c-34e5-4c1e-97b2-bf6ac8f1f782)

You can choose the user permissions in the target space that are used for publishing:

- **Comala Publishing for Confluence Cloud** app add-on user permissions
- **User who triggers the action**

By default, for a new space publishing configuration, the **Comala Publishing for Confluence Cloud** app add-on user permissions in the target space are used for publishing actions.

When publishing is configured to use the app add-on user, only the app add-on user requires edit permission in the target space. There is no need for a Confluence user who publishes content (a page editor or a space administrator) to have edit permissions in the target space. Removing user edit permissions in the target space can support compliance with published documents.

#### [Single-page publishing](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646578988)

![cpc_publishingdasboard_extract_singlepagepublishing_active.png](media://6823cd3b-6d4c-48fd-8ff9-f21f2d920889)

[You can enable or prevent a page editor from publishing an individual page](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646252212) using the **Publish** option in the publishing popup on a page in the source space.

If single-page publishing is disabled in a space

- the **Publish** button is not displayed in the popup
- space publishing can still occur
- individual pages can still be published using an applied Comala workflow

By default, this is enabled.

> ℹ️ Make this option inactive if you want to limit the publishing of pages for each space using the space settings Publishing dashboard. You might also choose to make single-page publishing inactive if a Comala workflow is being used to publish pages.

#### [Copy content properties](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646775243)

![cpc_publishingdasboard_extract_copycontentpropeties_active.png](media://9cac0b5c-d79c-4078-8f58-0e3de6227c95)

When publishing a page, the space administrator can enable or prevent the copying of content properties.

By default, this is enabled.

> ℹ️ Disable this option if you are using an app in the target space that will be impacted by copying the page properties from the source space page. For example, this can be disabled if a Comala workflow is applied in the target space.

#### [Only publish pages if they are in the final state of the workflow](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/1367900293)

![cpc_publishingdasboard_extract_publish-wf_final_state_inactive.png](media://454b87e2-fa0f-485c-8e2c-17c097c8a7a3)

When publishing all the pages in a space using space publishing, you can enable this setting to only publish the pages in the final state of an applied Comala workflow.

- a Comala workflow must be active on a page
- a page must be the final state of the workflow
- only unsynced pages are published

Pages not in the final state of the workflow are ignored for publishing.

#### [Space publishing](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646578843)

![cpc_publishingdasboard_extract_singlepagepublishing_active.png](media://6823cd3b-6d4c-48fd-8ff9-f21f2d920889)

A **Publish** button option is available to [publish and sync all the pages in the space](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/647038008) to the target space.

> 📝 After changing the target space, a publishing action publishes the pages in the new target space, including any pages previously published to a different target space.

When a target space is configured in the source space, the [target space app space settings](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/647004780) displays a message confirming the target space as a published space and details of the source space.

#### [Clear Publishing configuration](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646742317)

A space administrator can clear the existing publishing configuration, including the removal of the target space, using the **Clear Publishing configuration** option in the three-dot menu.

![cpc_ellipsismenu_clearpublishingconfiguration.png](media://0147b138-5f2e-4244-bd59-2598b41b54cc)

You need to confirm the removal of the publishing configuration and synchronization of the two spaces.

![cpc_clearpublishingconfiguration_confrim_clear.png](media://2aafded1-72b6-4573-94aa-920f3259e910)

After clearing the configuration, the publishing app space settings display the **[Configure Publishing](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646774970)**[ setup wizard tool](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPCL/pages/646774970).
