## Problem

> ❌ ### Failure!

> ❌ The requested page tree failed to be deleted successfully.
> ❌ 
> ❌ Error: insufficient permissions for operation

## Cause

The user does not have sufficient permissions for the operation and app.

## Solution

Ensure the user has sufficient app, space, and page permissions

### App Permissions

1. Under Administration > Global Permissions,  'can use' must be selected for the specific app for the specific user or a group in which a user is included

### Space Permissions

1. Navigate to the Space the user was working in when they received the error.
2. Under **Space** **Settings > Permissions**, verify the user or a [group the user is included in](https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/adding-or-removing-users-in-groups-138321.html#AddingorRemovingUsersinGroups-Editgroupmembershipviausermanagement) can 'View' and 'Add'
  
3. Under **Space Settings > Permissions > Add-on**, verify the user can 'View' and 'Add'

### Page Permissions

1. Navigate to the page where the user received the error
2. View page restrictions
  1. Click on the lock icon in the upper left corner of the page OR
  2. Click **More options > Restrictions**
3. Ensure the user or a [group the user is included in](https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/adding-or-removing-users-in-groups-138321.html#AddingorRemovingUsersinGroups-Editgroupmembershipviausermanagement) is listed in the page restrictions and/or, if applicable, the inherited view restrictions
