## Available swimlanes

The new view lets you organize data into the following swimlanes:

| **Swimlane** | **Result** |
| --- | --- |
| **Individuals ** | People assigned to tasks (assignee) |
| **Teams ** | BigPicture teams (go to the teams module to review the teams). |
| **Projects **[new] | Sub-boxes (for a project box that would be lower-level boxes, such as Program Increments, Iterations, Stages, Sprints etc.; for a portfolio box those would be project boxes in a portfolio) |
| **Skills **[New] | BigPicture skills assigned to tasks |

## Grouping 

The new grouping mechanism allows for a **two-level grouping** of tasks. Grouping provides you with better insight into your portfolio. Now, you can easily track things like individual allocation and workload across projects and teams.

Thanks to grouping, you can get **high-level insights into your projects on a portfolio level **(see a few examples):

- Based on assigned tasks, what is the workload assigned to each person in a project.

- What percentage of individuals' capacity is allocated to a project.

- Workload associated with timeboxes on a project level (insight into the person’s aggregate workload in each timebox)

## Manage grouping

### Activate grouping

> ✅ Make sure to [adjust the view](#view_adjustment) to ensure you get most out of your data.

First, select the main swimlane. Then, select how to group the data further into additional swimlanes.

> 📝 **Note: **Grouping is unavailable when the box you are in doesn’t have sub-boxes.

### Grouping combinations

The new mechanism currently allows for the following grouping combinations:

1. **Individuals** by:
  1. **projects **(sub-boxes)
  2. **teams**
2. **Teams** by:
  1. **projects **(sub-boxes)
  2. **individuals**
3. **projects **(sub-boxes) by:
  1. **individuals**
  2. **teams**

**Note**: Skills swimlane coming soon. 

### Clear grouping

Click the orange dot to clear the grouping.
