## Permissions

> 📝 **Users must be assigned financial roles** - access to the financial information is otherwise restricted by default. 
> 📝 
> 📝 App roles can be assigned by an **App Admin** or an **App Resource Admin**.

### Security roles

**App Financial Viewer**:

- Has a read-only access to the Financial module.

**App Financial Admin**:

- Has access to the Financial module.
- Can edit the team hourly rates.
- Can select the currency.
- Can edit the financial data, including budget and cost calculations.

**Note**: A financial role doesn’t grant access to the BigPicture app and boxes. Other roles must be assigned as needed. 

## Tasks

Both basic and Jira tasks are taken into consideration when making financial calculations.

For a task to be taken under consideration, it has to:

- Have a start or end date within the chosen financial period.
- Have effort estimated.
- Contouring mode affects cost calculations - it is important when it comes to task cost distribution between days.

## Teams

You must have Teams configured to use Team hourly rates in the calculation.

## App Administration

You can set the Team’s hourly rates and display currency in [the App Administration](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DLP/pages/1745093356) menu.
