Individuals can be assigned to multiple workload plans, for example, a different plan for the summer season and a different one for the winter. 

You can assign individuals to workload on the following pages:

- BigPicture Administration > Resources > Individuals
- BigPicture Administration > Resources > Workload plans

## Assign individuals to workload plans

Workload plans can't overlap. You can assign multiple consecutive workload plans to an individual, but they can never overlap. Only one workload plan is applicable at any given moment.

### **On the Workload plan page**

**Method 1 **

1. Click the **Details** button of a workload plan (either by clicking on its name or by clicking the **Details** button).
2. Click on the **Assigned resources** button.
3. In the pop-up, complete the **User**, **Efficiency**, and **Start date** fields.
4. When ready, click the** plus +** button.
5. Click **Assign** to confirm.
6. The resource will appear on the list.

> ✅ When you click on the name of a resource, you will be taken to the **Administration > Resources > Individuals** page of that resource. You can view the details of the workload plan assignment on the resource's timeline.

**Method 2 (assign multiple individuals at once)**

Assign multiple individuals to a workload plan.

1. Click **Assign individuals** on the **Administration **>** Resources **>** Workload plans** page.
2. Select the **workload plan** from the list.
3. Define the **Efficiency** and **Start date** fields. The end date will be adjusted automatically.
4. Select **individuals** from the list or use the **search box** to find them faster. The **Select all** and **Deselect All** options are useful when assigning multiple individuals.
5. When ready, click **Assign**.

### **On a resource's page (individual’s details page) **

**Method 1 (manage resource-specific information)**

1. Go to **Administration > Resources > Individuals**.
2. Find a resource on the list.
3. Click on the name of that resource.
4. Manage workload plans directly on the resource’s page.

The table presents how to manage workload plans on an individual’s details page.

| **Action** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Assign workload plan | 1. To assign a workload plan, click the **+Add new**.
2. Select a workload plan name and start date.  
The end date will be calculated automatically based on the start date of the previous workload plan. **Workload plans can't overlap**.
3. Click the** Add** button. The Workload plan will be visible on the list.<br>> ℹ️ When you assign a new workload plan, the unspecified end date will automatically change. |

**Method 2 (assign multiple individuals at once)**

1. Go to **Administration > Resources > Individuals**.
2. Click **Assign to > Workload plan**.
3. Complete the required fields.

## Workload plan efficiency

If you want to simulate a non-human resource or use a single user to represent a team, you can use the efficiency multiplier. Alternatively, you can use it to reduce the capacity resulting from the workload plan by setting a value below 1.

## Unassign individuals from workload plans

You can unassign an individual from a workload plan on:

- BigPicture Administration > Resources > Individuals > Individual’s details page > Workload plans, or
- BigPicture Administration > Resources > Workload plans > Workload plan details > Assigned resources.
