In the hierarchy mode, the column views configuration lets you perform the following actions:

- Add new column views
- Edit column views
- Change the name, visibility, and description of the existing views
- Duplicate a view
- Delete existing views

## Available fields

A list of available fields is on the right during column view creation/editing. 

Additional Jira fields can be added to the list, allowing users to add them to their column views in their own boxes (see the [Box Columns](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DLP/pages/297573377) page).   

## Add new column views

To add a new view:

1. Click **Add new column view**.
2. Then, add the **Summary**, **Visibility** (public or private), and **Description**.
3. Once ready, click **Create**.
4. Next, customize the fields by choosing them from the **Available fields** list on the right. You can either drag and drop them to the **Selected fields** to the left or simply click the **+** button.

      4. Once ready, click **Save**.

## Customize column views

### Details

To change the view's existing description, summary, or visibility, click the **Details** icon. A dialog window will appear where you can change the existing details.

### Columns

Click a column view name to edit it.

## Duplicate column views

To duplicate the view:

1. Click the **Duplicate** icon.
2. A copy of the view will appear on the list of the column views.

## Delete column views

> ℹ️ You **can't** delete a currently active view. At least one column view must exist.

To delete a column view:

1. Click the **Delete** icon next to a column view.
2. To confirm, click **Delete**.

You can also delete a column view by clicking **Delete** on the page of the particular column view.
