## Security and access

Only a user with a minimum box admin security role can access and manage the box configuration.

To design the card views:

1. Go to **box configuration** >** Risks module** >** Card views**.

> ℹ️ This configuration page will not be visible if the Risks module is deactivated or the inheritance mode is set to inherited only.

1. Go to **box configuration** >** Risks module** >** Card views**.
2. Click **Add new card view**.
3. Enter **Summary**.
4. Define **Visibility**. Set the visibility to **Public** if you want other users to select that view from the **Card view** drop-down.

6. When ready, click **Create**.
7. Once created, the new view appears on the list.
8. To modify the layout, select the clickable name link in the **Summary** column.

10. You can apply the new layout by selecting the layout from the **Card view** drop-down in the Risks module.

### Active card view

If you apply one of the available views from the **Card view **drop-down, it becomes active, and a green check mark appears next to its name. This means that this view will be applied whenever a user opens the module or returns to it.

### Inheritance mode

The card views can be inherited by the sub-level boxes when the inheritance mode is set to **inherited only** or **own with inherited** in the box type configuration. This way, every time you create new views or edit the existing ones, all available views will be updated in the sub-level boxes as well.

To learn more about the inheritance mode, go to [Risks Card Views in Box types](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DLP/pages/298288897).

## Edit card views

2. Click the **Details** button.
3. Make changes to the **Name**, **Visibility**, or **Description** fields.
