Electronic Signatures for Jira Cloud requires minimal configuration to get started. The primary setup involves enabling email notifications to receive your personal PIN codes for signing issues.

### How to set up PIN delivery

Unlike Electronic Signatures for Jira DC, which uses passwords, Electronic Signatures for Jira Cloud uses personal PIN codes for authentication. These PINs are delivered via email each time you need to sign an issue or execute a transition.

To enable PIN delivery:

1. In your Jira Cloud instance, navigate to **Settings **>** Personal Settings**.
2. In the left sidebar, select **Projects and work items**.
3. Locate the *Notifications for relevant work items*** **section and expand the *Changes to work items*** **sub-section.
4. Make sure the **Email **checkbox for the **A work item is edited** setting is selected as shown in the screenshot below.

This setting ensures you receive email notifications when you make changes to issues, which is how the Electronic Signatures app delivers your PIN codes.

> ℹ️ **Important:** Without proper email notification settings, you will not receive PIN codes and cannot complete electronic signatures.

5. Verify that email notifications work:
  1. Make a test change to any issue in your Jira instance.
  2. Verify that you receive an email notification.
If notifications are working properly, you're ready to use Electronic Signatures for Jira Cloud.
