# New features

### Role editing and assignment

To address a serious security concern, we have changed how role assignment and editing work in Flow.

Now, no Flow user can assign a role to to another user if that role has more permissions than the user trying to assign the role. In addition, users cannot see roles that have more permissions than they already have.

This means that if an admin user does not have all available permissions, they might not be able to see all roles in their org, even if they have the **Manage roles** permission (this permission allows them to see and manage only those roles that have the same or fewer permissions than the user.)

The latest change blocks users from being able to escalate their own role and the roles of others.

We recommend that the most admin role is assigned all available permissions to ensure they can see all roles in their organization.
