The Essential setup is a step-by-step guide for new users and current users who have not configured Flow. 

It consists of the sequential stages, each unlocking the next. The progress is saved, allowing you (or another permitted user) to complete the process at your own pace.

Currently, once you have completed all steps, the Essential Setup is replaced with the regular settings overview page, which becomes the permanent default view.

## Essential setup: An overview

In addition to the sequential approach, the setup includes features designed to enhance the clarity and importance of each step.

### Tags

Tags indicate the configuration's complexity, the effort required to complete it, and whether the configuration step is critical to Flow setup. Click the **Tag description** link at the top of the page to see each tag’s details.

### Tips & prerequisites

Each step of the setup flow is further broken down into sections, where you can find the **Tips & prerequisites** expandable tabs. Their goal is to advise you on the best approach to the specific configuration and to suggest related documentation pages that provide in-depth information.
