# Enhancements

## User attributes

We are significantly expanding the capabilities for user attributes in Appfire Flow to give you more granular control over how you slice and dice your engineering data.

First, this release brings the User attribute feature to all Flow users.

Second, user attributes move beyond basic tagging. This release introduces more configuration options and expands the dedicated reporting space to analyze your attributes and teams by the dimensions that matter most to your business.

For example, you can compare the efficiency and impact of teams using specific AI technologies across different global offices.

Here’s a short overview of what you can do:

- [Create custom attribute values](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FD/pages/3044311307) for each of the eight predefined user attributes. Predefined defaults include categories like Location (Country, Region, Time Zone), Employment (Hire Date, Type, Seniority), and Engineering Details (Programming Language, Engineering Type).

- Create custom attributes and their corresponding values. Admins can create up to 10 custom attributes, supporting both single-select and multi-select values to fit your specific organizational needs.
- [Bulk import](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FD/pages/1802109245) attributes together with team structure and details. The most efficient way to get started is using the Team CSV Import. Simply download your current structure, fill in the attribute columns, and re-upload.
- View and manage attributes directly on the user details page, allowing you to edit an individual's attributes on the fly.
- View the **[User Attribute Insights](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FD/pages/3045032027)**[ report](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FD/pages/3045032027). This report serves as a new analytical hub where you can cross-reference key metrics against up to five attributes simultaneously. Whether you need a high-level summary by attribute category or a deep dive into individual contributor data, this report provides the flexibility to filter, sort, and export the specific dimensions driving your team's performance. The report supports **Attribute**, **Team**, and **User** views. All views can be exported to CSV for further external analysis.

- Retrieve comprehensive lists of users with their associated attributes and perform targeted updates to individual user attribute values using the existing [API endpoints](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FD/pages/1802404091).
