When the filters used to specify the scope of the report returns a relatively large number of results, it might take a while to prepare the report. That’s where Background Reports enter the scene: You can create reports that are running asynchronously in the background while you go about your business.

## To create a background Time Tracking Report:

1. Create your **Time Tracking Report**.
2. From the dropdown menu of **Generate**, click **Create Background report**.
3. Enter a name for your background report. Click **Generate**.
4. Your report will be prepared in the background, and you’ll receive a notification when it’s ready.
5. To view the report or its status, go to **Background Reports**. Here you can also **Add subscription**, **Download report**, or **Delete report**.
