This section explains how to install the app for the first time and how to unsubscribe or uninstall the app.

You can start a [free trial](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1214791/jql-search-extensions-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=installation) of JQL Search Extensions for Jira (JSE) from the Atlassian Marketplace.

### How to install JSE for Jira Cloud:

1. Log in to your instance as a Jira administrator.
2. From the top navigation bar, select **Admin Settings** > **Apps**.
3. In the *Explore New Apps* page, use the search bar to find JQL Search Extensions and select the app tile.
4. In the Marketplace app page, click **Try it free**.
5. In the *Add to Jira* page, click **Start free trial**.
6. Once the app is installed, it will be available on the *Manage apps* page.
7. Click **Get started** to navigate to the app. The initial indexing time estimate is displayed with the option to prioritise projects to get started before the full indexing of your instance is complete.

### Initial indexing

Once the app is installed, the initial indexing of your Jira issues begins automatically. This process can take a lot of time, depending on the size of your instance. You can select a few projects to prioritize indexing, or wait until the full indexing process is complete.

### **Search for issues in prioritized projects**

If you want to explore all of the functions and keywords before your entire instance is indexed, you can select up to five projects to index first. JSE will prioritize the indexing of those issues. If you choose this option, your search results will be limited to those issues until the full indexing process is complete. Projects are indexed in the order in which they were initially selected. You can’t remove or add projects once project indexing is started.

Alternatively, you can wait until the full indexing is complete before you start using JSE. If you decide to start using JSE during this process, only issues already indexed will be available, and the results might not be accurate.

### How to uninstall JSE for Jira Cloud:
