Labels in OKR for Jira give you a flexible way to tag and categorize objectives and key results (KRs) based on your specific needs. Once applied, labels can be used to filter the main OKR view, helping you stay organized and focused.

You might use labels to represent:

- Projects linked to OKRs
- Sprints or timeframes
- Departments or teams
- Products or initiatives

> ✅ Labels are fully customizable. You decide what they represent in your context.

## How to add labels

To create a new label:

1. Go to **Settings** and select the **Labels** tab.
2. Click the **Add new label** button. A configuration window will open.
3. Enter:
  - A label name
  - A background color
  - A text color
4. Click **Save**.

## How to manage labels

- **Edit a label**: Any changes will be reflected wherever the label is used.
- **Delete a label**: Once deleted, the label will be removed from all associated OKRs automatically.

## How to apply labels to OKRs

You can add labels to both **objectives** and **key results**.

To add a label:

1. Open the detail page of the objective or KR.
2. In the **Info** section, find the **Labels** field.
3. Click the empty area or existing label to open the label selection dropdown.
4. Select one or more labels.

Once applied:

- Labels will appear in the **Info** box on the detail page.
- They will also be visible in the **Labels** column on the OKR Overview screen. You can then use the filter to display only OKRs that have a specific label.
