## Prerequisites

You can only set up a request for approval on a space that has page approval enabled by the space administrator.

## Step 1 - Select your approvers

Go to any page in your space. 

- choose the **Page Approval **breadcrumb** **below the page title

- select **Create Approval Request** in the dialog window

In the dialog box

- choose the approval type

> ℹ️ If you see the option to **Select an approval template**, choose **Skip** to create your own approval request. For more information, refer to [Using approval templates](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PAFC/pages/2182480298).

For this example, **Standard approval** is selected as the approval type.

In the **Approvers** box

- choose **Find a person.. **for a dropdown of eligible approvers
- select the approvers

- then choose **Next **to continue

## Step 2 - Select the acknowledges

In the **Acknowledgers** option

- search and select one or more acknowledgers
- choose **Next**

## Step 3 - Set the due date and priority

- add the **Due date**
- add the **Priority** for the approval


- choose **Send request **to submit the approval request

The status changes from **Page approval **to **In review**.

> ℹ️ A notification is sent to the approvers that an approval request is pending their approval.

You can view the current state of the approval request:

- choose **In review **
- choose** View Approval Request**
