## Overview

Page Approval can be added on a space level to all the pages in the space.

> ℹ️ This automatically adds the Page Approval to any page in a given space without manually adding a Page Approval macro to each page.

When Page approval is enabled in the space settings

- Page Approval automatically appears on newly created pages
- Existing pages need to be edited and saved for the Page Approval content to appear

> 📝 Existing pages with a manually added Page Approval are not overridden when enabling Page Approval at space level.

> ✅ To configure the space level Page Approval, you must be an administrator or have space administrator privileges.

# Space Page Approval configuration screen

To set up the space level of Page Approval, in the space where you want Page Approval active:

- go to **Space Tools > Page Approval**

The space level Page Approval configuration screen is displayed with options to

- Enable automatic addition of page approvals to each page in the space
- Configure the settings for page approval on all pages in the space:
  - Appearance
  - Users and groups of users who are approvers
  - Requirement for a quorum of approvers
  - Enable acknowledgements and list of users and/or groups of users who must acknowledge
  - Expiry settings for the approval, including option to set an expiry period, or a recurring expiry

> ℹ️ Settings include an option to ignore an added list of pages when adding to all the pages in the space.

After configuring the settings, remember to click **Save**.

> 📝 When a [Page Approval](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PAFS/pages/2213905904) macro is added directly to any page within the space, the page-level macro takes precedence over the space level.

## Configure the app space settings

On the space level Page Approval configuration screen, you can configure the settings for all pages in the space.

These are automatically applied and updated to any pages in the space when changes are made.

> ℹ️ See the [Page Approval macro](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PAFS/pages/2213905904) documentation page for more details on the individual options.

> ℹ️ By default, this setting is **Disabled**.

Choose **Enable Space Settings** to enable Page Approval macro on every page in the space.

> ✅ When Space settings are enabled for Page Approval, you can also use the **Appearance** >** Ignored Pages** option to manage the settings for all Page Approval macros manually added to pages in the space.

## Appearance

The **Appearance** > **Ignored Pages** option lets an administrator manage which pages in a space have the Page Approval applied.

![image](media://bc8bdc59-d0e0-4f65-8e6e-6ab9fd1d1e2f)

- **Ignored Pages**
  - List pages that should be ignored when enabling space-wide Page Approval
    - **Show role field **check option to display role field for each macro
    - **Show comment field** check option to display comment field for each macro

> 📝 If a [Page Approval](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PAFS/pages/2213905904) macro is added directly to any page within the space, this macro takes precedence over the space-level addition of Page Approval to the page.

For example, if you want every page except for your **Home** page and your **Navigation** page to have a space-wide Page Approval, you would add "*Home, Navigation*" into the box.

### Managing settings space-wide for manually added page approval pages

> ✅ You can also use the **Ignore** **Pages** option with the keyword ***@all*** to add a space-wide configuration to all your manually added Page Approvals. This can be used if you want to select only a few pages that will have a manually added Page Approval on them, but have these macros all use the space settings and update when the space settings are changed.

For example, if you have a space with a few pages that need to have the same Page Approval macro on them. You can:

- Turn on space-wide Page Approval, choose all your settings, using ***@all*** to ignore all pages in the space
- On the required pages, manually add the [Page Approval](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PAFS/pages/2213905904) macro

These pages with the manually added macro all maintain the same settings as retrieved from the space settings page.

      - When checked, it requires an order (defined by order the users) for the approvals to take place
- **Quorum**
  - The number of users that must approve the page to be considered approved

## Expiry Setting

![image](media://ae1541a9-4899-4cd0-9583-a6988e61632f)

- **Expire after**
  - An amount of time before the page expires
    - Options are a number and time word, such as **72 hours**, **1 day**, **6 months,** or **1 year**
    - Time periods allowed are year, month, day, and hour
- **Expiry month**
  - Specify a fixed, recurring month when the page expires (value of 1 to 12)
- **Expiry day**
  - Specify a fixed, recurring day of the month when the page expires (value of 1 to 31)

Specifying an **Expiry month** causes the approval to expire on the first day of the month. You can set the expiry to a specific month and day of the month by adding a value for the month and the day of expiry.

> 📝 The **Expiry day** values 28-31 might not be recognized depending on usage, and you should avoid using these values for this parameter.
