## Purpose

The Page Approval macro has options for **Acknowledgers** and **Acknowledgement Groups**. What are they used for and how are they different from approvers?

## Answer

Acknowledgements provide a way for certain users to indicate they have checked the page, even if they are not approvers.

Think of it this as

- similar to a **CC: email**
- or a way to keep certain parties "in the loop"

For example, you may need to have a document acknowledged by the legal department or the HR department as part of the workflow, but they are not the ones who will do the final approval.
