### Simple Issue Language (SIL)

SIL is a scripting language initially developed for Atlassian products that can operate independently of Jira. Its design focuses on simplifying complex system interactions by providing a clean, straightforward approach to scripting and customization.

The language includes a specialized Jira interpreter that handles system-specific operations, along with a context system for efficient variable management. By offering a comprehensive function library, SIL enables developers to write more focused and efficient code with less overhead.

### The SIL Manager

The SIL Manager is a scripting console where you write, modify, organize, test/debug, and execute your scripts. The editor provides fundamental text editing capabilities, including syntax highlighting, autocomplete suggestions, and source file management across all defined trees. You can also execute scripts and monitor instance logs directly from the SIL Manager interface.

While the SIL Manager is primarily designed for script editing, it also supports editing of a wide range of file types beyond just scripts.
