## Dependencies and requirements

Power Database Fields requires three components to function: the main app, SIL Engine, and Power Apps License Manager.

> 📝 When you install any Power Suite app, both SIL Engine and Power Apps License Manager are installed automatically.

- SIL Engine includes a library (katl-commons) with utility functions and the Simple Issue Language (SIL) parser. It is shared across the Power Suite portfolio products and must remain enabled for SIL-based functionality to work.
- If you already have SIL Engine installed, do not uninstall it manually before installing Power Custom Fields. Instead, check its version and update it if needed. The latest SIL Engine version and updates are available on the [Atlassian Marketplace](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/373929/sil-engine-for-power-suite?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview).

## Prerequisites

- To install add-ons, you must have Jira administrator permissions.
- Your Jira administration console must be connected to the Atlassian Marketplace website for direct app installation.

## Install from the Atlassian Marketplace

1. Log in to Jira as an administrator.
2. Click **Administration** () and select **Manage** **apps**.
3. Click the **Find new add-ons** link.
4. In the search field, enter **Power Database Fields**.
5. Follow the prompts to install the app.

## Install by file upload

1. Download the Power Custom Fields file from the [Atlassian Marketplace](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/630415/power-database-fields/version-history?versionHistoryHosting=dataCenter).
2. Log in to Jira as an administrator.
3. Click **Administration** () and select **Manage apps**.
4. Click the **Upload app **link,** **select the file you downloaded, and click **Upload**.
