This page explains how to use the audit log in Dashboard Hub to track changes to datasources, dashboards, permissions, and gadgets.

## Overview

The audit log records changes to your datasources, dashboards, and gadgets, including sharing and permissions. Each entry shows the user who made the change, when it happened, and which object was created, updated, or deleted. Entries are retained for 365 days.

> ℹ️ Only Jira or Confluence administrators can view the audit log. It records actions taken inside Dashboard Hub and doesn’t replace your site administrator audit log.

You rely on your dashboards for accurate reporting. But they can often change. Gadgets are updated, data sources are added, or permissions get removed. But who made those changes and when? The Dashboard Hub audit log answers that. It's available in Dashboard Hub Pro and Dashboard Hub for Confluence. Here, we're in Jira.

The changes we record are stored for one year, and only Jira or Confluence admins can access the log. You'll find it in your app admin settings. Quick filter cards show how much activity you've had. Grouped by object type. Click a card to view only those changes, For example, only gadget changes. The table breaks down every event. Time stamp, the user, what happened, and the object that was affected. Use the filter bar to find logs by date, user, object, or event to find a specific change and open details for the full record of the change.

That's what makes it useful day to day. If you notice a public link was enabled where it shouldn't be, you can step in before it becomes a problem. And it works the other way too. When you've asked someone to lock a datasource or update a gadget, the log confirms it was actually done, by whom, and when. If you need the data elsewhere, export the whole log as a CSV for your own analysis or compliance. That's the audit log in Dashboard Hub. Clarity on every change in one place.
