This release improves gadget performance on large filters in Rich Filters for Jira Dashboards, version 4.0.0-jira11.

**Jira compatibility**: Jira Data Center 11.0.0 and later

---

## Improvements

On Jira 11, Rich Filters now calculates many gadget statistics directly in the Jira search index instead of scanning every matching work item, so dashboards built on large filters load faster. No configuration is required.

- **Quick filters and work item counts**: Quick filter controllers and gadgets that show work item counts load faster on large filters.
- **Pie charts, flexi charts, and 1D statistics**: Work item counts and the sum, average, and maximum of numeric custom fields use index-based statistics on supported axes. Custom ratios and filtered custom values are also supported.
- **2D statistics**: Common matrix layouts, such as field by field and smart filter by field, use index-based statistics for work item counts, numeric fields, filtered custom values, and custom ratios.
- **Time series**: Many date-based series and period-based work item counts load faster. Duration sums over time buckets also use index-based statistics.
- **Gauges and counters**: Simple gauge, smart gauge, and smart counter gadgets load statistics for multiple tiles or rows in a single request when possible.

> ℹ️ **Before you upgrade**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - Test your largest dashboards in a staging environment before you upgrade production.
> ℹ️ - Gadgets time out after 60 seconds. If a gadget on a large filter still times out, narrow the gadget's filter JQL to reduce the number of work items it covers.

## Known limitations

Some statistics can't use the Jira 11 search index yet and still scan matching work items. A single gadget can use both methods when its columns need different ones.

- **Subtask rollups (Σ)**: Totals that include subtasks.
- **Minimum values**: The minimum per row or column.
- **Votes and watches**: These values can't be aggregated in the index.
- **Estimates and time spent**: Original estimate, remaining estimate, and time spent.
- **Worklog-based filters and statistics**: Most scenarios that depend on individual worklog entries.
- **Custom durations, work item age, and resolution time**: On pie chart, flexi chart, 1D statistics, and 2D statistics gadgets. On time series gadgets, sums over time buckets use the index, but averages, minimums, and maximums don't.
