Appfire LiveRisk information for an individual risk is available in two main areas of the risk work item:

- **Risk analysis**: assess the risk, review its scores and linked signals, use AI-assisted features, and track mitigation progress.
- **Risk management**: view and update risk details, review dates, approval modes, and scores.

To use LiveRisk risk-management actions, you need **Manage LiveRisk Risk Register** and the Jira permissions required to view and edit the Risk work item. The **LiveRisk Manager** and **LiveRisk Analyst** roles have **Manage LiveRisk Risk Register** by default.

## Risk analysis 

Use the **Risk analysis** panel to understand the risk's current state and work with its assessment and treatment. If the panel isn't visible, select **View app actions** below the work item summary, then select **Risk analysis**.

The panel includes:

- **Risk lifecycle**: Shows the risk's progression through **Identified**, **Evaluation**, **Treatment**, and **Monitoring**.
- **Risk matrix**: Shows the **Inherent**, **Current**, and **Target** scores on the configured Impact × Probability matrix.
- **Linked signals**: Shows the security findings linked to the risk.
- **Risk score trend**: Shows how the risk score has changed over time relative to the space's risk appetite.
- **AI estimate**: Provides an AI-assisted risk estimate and rationale.
- **AI guardrails**: Shows the boundaries that apply to AI-assisted actions.
- **Mitigation progress**: Shows the linked Risk treatment plan and provides access to AI-assisted treatment planning.

## Risk management

The **Risk management** panel appears in the right sidebar of the Risk work item. It organizes information into **Details**, **Dates and schedule**, **Approval modes**, and **Scores**.

### 3. Approval modes

The **Approval modes** section shows the approval modes currently configured for the risk, such as **Current score mode**.

Risk owners can propose approval modes as part of the treatment workflow. The risk manager can accept the proposed mode or select a less autonomous mode, but cannot grant more autonomy than the risk owner proposed.

### 4. Scores

The **Scores** section shows the risk's three scores. Each score card shows its **Impact × Probability** values and the corresponding risk tier and score:

- **Inherent score**: The risk level before controls or treatment are considered. This score is editable only while the risk is in **Evaluation**. When it is locked, LiveRisk shows a lock icon and the reason.
- **Current score**: The risk's current level. Editing this score manually overrides the current value rather than relying on an AI-assisted update.
- **Target score**: The level the organization intends to reach through treatment.

Select a score card to edit it. Choose the **Impact** and **Probability** values, then review the resulting tier and score under **Preview**. LiveRisk uses the space's risk matrix to determine the corresponding tier. Select the checkmark to save your changes.
