Risk assessment requires judgment, but gathering context and determining appropriate scores can take time. Appfire LiveRisk can use AI to analyze a risk and propose a risk score while keeping the decision with the people responsible for managing the risk.

Use AI as assistance for the assessment rather than as a replacement for your governance process.

## When to use this approach

Use this workflow when you want to accelerate risk assessment while maintaining human review over the resulting score.

It can be especially useful when risk owners or analysts need to assess many risks consistently using the information available in LiveRisk.

## How it works

The workflow looks like this:

**Risk context → AI analysis → Proposed score → Human review → Accepted assessment**

1. **[Open the risk work item](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RM/pages/3459711244)****.**  
Review the risk details and make sure the information needed to understand the risk is available.
2. **[Run the AI-assisted assessment](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RM/pages/3459121540)****.**  
From the **Risk analysis** panel, ask LiveRisk to estimate the risk.

3. **Review the recommendation.**  
LiveRisk proposes scoring values and provides reasoning for its assessment.
4. **Refine when necessary.**  
Provide additional context or instructions if the recommendation does not account for information that should influence the assessment.
5. **Accept the appropriate assessment.**  
Review the AI recommendation before applying it to the risk.
6. **[Continue to treatment](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RM/pages/3459219901)****.**  
Once the risk has been assessed, determine the appropriate treatment and, when needed, use AI to generate a proposed treatment plan.

## Result

The risk has an assessment informed by AI analysis but reviewed through the organization's risk-management workflow.

AI provides the recommendation; the governance process determines what becomes part of the managed risk.
