Use this guide to set up Appfire QueueZero for your organization.

As an organization admin, you manage the shared QueueZero setup your teams use. This includes connections, users, Spaces, organization settings, and billing.

## Before you begin

Make sure you have permission to create or manage a QueueZero organization.

During setup, you’ll also need access to the Atlassian and source-code tools your team plans to connect. If someone else manages these tools, you can invite them to your organization and continue setup together.

## Video overview

## Step 1: Create your account and organization

1. Go to the QueueZero sign-up page.
2. Create your account.
3. Check your inbox for the verification email, then enter the code to verify your email address.
4. Enter an organization name.
5. Create your organization.

Your organization is the top-level workspace for QueueZero. It contains your users, spaces, connections, billing, and shared settings.

## Step 2: Activate your trial

A new QueueZero organization must be activated by an **owner** before the team can use it.

After creating the organization, an owner sees **Activate your free 1-month Pilot trial**.

1. Select **Activate trial**.
2. Wait for QueueZero to activate the organization.
3. Continue to the QueueZero setup flow.

Until the trial is activated, other users cannot use QueueZero and are prompted to ask the organization owner to activate it.

## Step 3: Follow the setup checklist

After activation, QueueZero guides you through the main tasks required before your team can start resolving work. The checklist tracks the following setup steps:

![QueueZero's Admin setup options. ](media://2d5f591d-047a-440e-aa38-81667b73709f)

| **Step** | **What to do** |
| --- | --- |
| **See how it works** | Review the QueueZero process for turning work items into pull requests. |
| **Connect your tools** | Connect your Atlassian/Jira, GitHub, and Bitbucket accounts to QueueZero. Optionally, invite other members to join your organization. |
| **Create a space** | Link a Jira space to bring work, knowledge, repositories, and users for a team together. QueueZero space name and key are inherited from the Jira space. |
| **Choose a ticket** | Open a work item and start your first resolution to generate an implementation plan. |

Completed steps are marked in the checklist as you progress.

The final **Choose a ticket** step does not appear as completed after a plan is generated. Instead, once the organization has a plan, the setup checklist is removed and the regular [Dashboard](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3499294890) is shown.

## Step 4: Review organization settings

After the initial setup, review the settings that apply across your organization.

Organization settings can control areas such as:

- AI provider and model configuration
- Code graph settings
- Attachment settings
- Execution behavior
- Other organization-wide defaults

QueueZero spaces can inherit organization settings, and some settings can be overridden for individual spaces.

For more information, see **[Manage organizations](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3293446474)**.

## Step 5: Invite your team

Invite the people who will configure or use QueueZero.

1. From the side menu, click **Team**.
2. Click the **Invite member **button.
3. Enter an email or email addresses to invite users in bulk.
4. Choose a role.

| **Role** | **Use this role for** | **What they can do** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Owner** | The person(s) responsible for the organization | Manage the organization, billing, global settings, spaces, connections, and users. |
| **Admin** | Admins who configure QueueZero | Manage global settings, configure connections, create QueueZero spaces, and manage users.. |
| **Member** | Regular QueueZero users | Use QueueZero in the spaces they can access. |

> ℹ️ Space-level access is managed separately after you create a QueueZero space.

5. Click **Send invite** to send the invitation.

The invited user receives an email prompting them to join your organization.

After joining, invited members see an introduction to how QueueZero works and can connect their personal accounts as needed.

Space access is managed separately. A user must have access to the relevant QueueZero space before they can use it.

> 📝 Pending invitations count toward your organization's seat limit. If no seats are available, revoke an unused pending invitation or change your plan before inviting additional members.

For more information, see **[Invite users](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3293118641)** and **[Roles and permissions](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3293446483)**.

## Step 6: Manage additional connections

The initial setup helps you connect the tools needed to start using QueueZero.

To add or manage connections later, select **Connections** from the side menu.

- **Atlassian** — Provides access to Jira work items and Confluence documentation.
- **GitHub** and/or **Bitbucket** — Provide access to repositories and pull request workflows.

Confirm that the connections required by your teams are available before setting up additional spaces. Repositories are added to individual QueueZero spaces and can then be configured through their repository settings.

For more information, see **[Configure connections](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3159457879/Configure+connections?atl_f=PAGETREE)**.

## Step 7: Review billing and plan limits

Open **Billing** to review your organization's current subscription, trial status, usage, and plan limits.

![Billing page for Appfire QueueZero.](media://f92fe1be-63dd-4e90-9f03-63dc8d68eebc)

Plan limits can affect areas such as:

- Number of repositories
- Hosted vs. Bring your own LLM model selection
- Available features
- Usage during the current period

Depending on your subscription, you can also manage subscription changes from the Billing page.

For more information, see **[Billing and plans](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3293184199)**.

## Step 8: Hand off to your space admin

Once the organization-level setup is ready, a space admin can prepare the context QueueZero uses for planning and execution.

Before handing off, confirm that:

- The required Atlassian and source-code connections are available.
- The organization settings and AI provider are configured.
- The appropriate users have joined the organization.
- The organization's subscription or trial allows the required functionality.

The space admin can then create a new space or configure an existing space, including mapping Jira spaces, adding repositories and documentation sources, and giving the team access.
