Use the Appfire QueueZero standalone app to set up and manage QueueZero outside Jira.

The standalone app is where admins manage organizations, connections, spaces, users, AI settings, usage, and billing. Users can also open QueueZero spaces, work with Jira work items, generate plans, execute changes, and review results.

## Who uses the standalone app

Access depends on your role.

- **Organization owners and organization admins** manage organization-level setup, including connections, users, spaces, billing, and shared settings.
- **Space admins** manage the configuration and context for the Spaces they administer, including members, repositories, knowledge, guardrails, and space-level settings.
- **Space members** can open the spaces they belong to and work with available work items.

If you can’t see a page or setting, you may not have the required role.

## What you can do in the standalone app

The QueueZero standalone app (Figure 1, above) includes the following primary pages:

- **Dashboard** - Review recent QueueZero activity, usage, active or completed runs, and items that may need attention.
- **Spaces** - Create or open QueueZero spaces and work with the Jira work items available in those spaces.
- **[Analytics](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3159032812)** - *Owners and Admins only****. ***View metrics on usage and associated costs.

If you are an Owner or an Admin, you also have access to the following settings:

- **[Connections](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3159457879)** - Connect to Atlassian, GitHub and/or Bitbucket, or manage these connections.
- **[Organization](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3293446474)** - Organization settings including org name, LLM provider, and default models.
- **[Team](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3293118641)** - Invite and manage QueueZero users.
- **[Billing](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3293184199/Billing+and+plans?atl_f=PAGETREE)** - Manage your QueueZero subscription.

The upper-right area also includes tools for:

- **Theme switcher** - Switch between light and dark modes.
- **Organization switcher** - Switch between organizations, or create a new organization.
- **Account menu** - Account settings, user logout.

## Resolve a work item in QueueZero

You can use a QueueZero space to browse Jira work items, review work item details, and start a resolution without leaving the QueueZero standalone app. Once a space is configured with the required repositories and documentation sources, you can use it as an alternative to the Jira workflow.

![Work item view in QueueZero.](media://6535d11c-b795-4101-8ef2-b2e9120b98e4)

The work item page combines Jira information with QueueZero planning, execution, governance, and activity. The QueueZero app currently includes the following work-item tabs:

- **Details**
- **Governance**
- **Plan**
- **Execution**
- **Refine PR – **Appears when pull request refinement is available for the work item.
- **Cost**
- **Logs**

### Browse work items tabs

#### Details

The **Details** tab displays the Jira work item information. Review the work item description before starting a resolution to make sure QueueZero has enough context to understand the request. You can use **[Refine a work item](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3483271197/Refine+a+work+item?atl_f=PAGETREE)** to clarify the work item.

#### Governance

The **Governance **tab displays the results of [organization guardrails](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3641376799) or [space guardrails](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3668738179). Guardrails are context added every time AI generates code and help control behaviors.

#### Plan

The **Plan** tab displays implementation plans generated for the work item. After QueueZero generates a plan, use this tab to review the proposed implementation before execution.

#### Execution

The **Execution** tab displays execution progress and results. Use this tab to monitor QueueZero while it carries out an approved plan.

#### Cost

The **Cost** tab shows usage and cost information for the work item. Use it to understand the resources used during planning and execution.

#### Logs

The **Logs** tab displays detailed QueueZero activity. Use it to review planning, execution, indexing, and other actions performed for the work item.

### Start a resolution

The detailed developer workflow is documented under [Resolve a work item](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3159621711). Alternatively, users can run a resolution from the standalone app as well. To start working on a work item:

1. Navigate to **Spaces**, and open the work item.
2. Click the **Resolve **button.

QueueZero opens the resolution dialog and suggests the repositories that are most relevant to the work item. When QueueZero is confident in the match, the suggested repositories are selected automatically. If the space contains only one repository, that repository is selected.

Review the repository selection before starting the resolution:

- Review each selected repository and its base branch. You can also enter a pull request branch name or use the automatically generated value.
- To use a different repository, search for it or select one of the suggested repositories.
- If QueueZero displays **No confident match for this ticket — pick the repository to apply changes to**, select the repository manually. This message does not indicate an error; it means QueueZero does not have enough information to confidently select a repository.

The repositories you select define the scope of the resolution. QueueZero can make changes only in the selected repositories, so include all repositories required for the work item and remove any that are not relevant.

You can also configure advanced options such as **[Single-shot resolution](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3166273540)** and automatic CI/CD failure resolution.

3. Select **Start Resolution**.

QueueZero begins planning using the selected repository, branch, and resolution settings. Depending on the selected options, QueueZero either:

- Generates a plan and waits for review.
- Generates the plan and immediately continues into execution.

After the run starts, use the **[Plan](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3158507969)**, **[Execution](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3166273540)**, **[Cost](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3258745145)**[, and ](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3258745145)**[Logs](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RS/pages/3258745145)** tabs to track progress and review the results.

When planning finishes, the **Plan** tab becomes available.

![QueueZero screen showing a generated plan](media://405d45a5-c1f4-4132-a973-7d020fbbbff9)

The generated plan includes a high-level explanation of the proposed implementation. If QueueZero encounters implementation decisions that require clarification, it presents them as assumptions. For each assumption, you can:

- review the reasoning
- accept the recommended option
- choose an alternative

After the plan is approved, QueueZero begins executing it. Open the **Execution** tab to monitor the live execution pipeline.

![QueueZero screen showing an execution in progress](media://8caceaed-3b05-4125-9d7b-a10d34ed80ae)

QueueZero exposes the complete execution workflow so you can see exactly what the agent is reading, creating, and modifying as it works. You can also open the **Logs** tab at any time to view the live agent output in more detail.
