This page guides you through the process of installing Security and Encryption for Confluence Server & Data Center.

## Installation

| --- | --- |
| Installation using an Atlassian License (a license bought through the Atlassian Marketplace). | Log into your Confluence instance as an administrator<br>- go to the top right of the page and click on the **cog icon ** ** > Manage apps**<br>- choose** Find new apps**
- locate Security and Encryption for Confluence Server/Data Center via search<br>> ℹ️ The appropriate add-on version appears in the search results.<br>- choose
  - **Try free **to begin a new trial
  - or **Buy now ** to purchase a license<br>> ℹ️ You're prompted to log into * MyAtlassian. * The download will then begin.<br>- enter your information and click ** Generate license  **when redirected to * MyAtlassian*
- select ** Apply license**<br>> ✅ If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your Confluence instance. |

<summary>What if the Confluence Instance can not access the Atlassian Marketplace?</summary>

If you have a valid license for the designated app, the license key is stored on the[ MyAtlassian](https://my.atlassian.com/products/index) site. This site manages your Atlassian-related licensing and orders.

Copy the license key and manually paste the key in the Universal Plugin Manager

- go to the top right of the page and click on the **cog icon ** ** > Manage apps**
- expand the add-on details and paste the license key in the text box
