## Guide

### 1. Upgrade the Security and Encryption app

In Confluence Server, ensure the Security and Encryption is up-to-date.

To check

- go to gear<span style="color: #5e6c84"> </span>icon<span style="color: #5e6c84"> </span><span style="color: #5e6c84">**⚙**</span>> **Manage apps**
- search for **Security and Encryption** from the list
- make sure that the app is updated to latest version

### 2. Prepare the Migration tool

Migrate your data using the Confluence Cloud Migration tool. 

- <span style="color: #172b4d">navigate to the </span>**Migration Assistant**<span style="color: #172b4d"> homepage</span>
- <span style="color: #172b4d">choose </span><span style="color: #172b4d">**Assess Your Apps**</span>

In the **Assess your apps** window

- mark Security and Encryption as **Needed in Cloud**

- complete the assessment
- when prompted, **agree** with the **app data migration policy**

### 3. Perform the migration

<span style="color: #172b4d">**Start a new migration process**</span>

- <span style="color: #172b4d">going to </span>**Manage your Migration **menu<span style="color: #172b4d"> > </span>**Create new migration**
- follow the instructions in the process.

At the end of this process, you have the option to

- **immediately start **the m<span style="color: #172b4d">igration</span>
- <span style="color: #172b4d">or </span><span style="color: #172b4d">**Save it for later**</span>

<span style="color: #172b4d">In both cases, the new migration process is saved to your dashboard. There, you can view the progress and details of all your migrations.</span>

**Ensure that the app data migration is successful** 

<span style="color: #172b4d">In the Migration dashboard</span>

- <span style="color: #172b4d">choose </span><span style="color: #172b4d">**View Details**</span><span style="color: #172b4d"> to see the status of the migration</span>

> ℹ️ <span style="color: #172b4d">Wait until you see a </span><span style="color: #172b4d">**COMPLETE **</span><span style="color: #172b4d">status.</span>
