## Salesforce 

Before you begin configuring <span style="color: #172b4d">Publisher for Confluence Cloud to Salesforce</span> on the Confluence side, as a Salesforce administrator, you need to be aware of the following:

- <span style="color: #172b4d">To enable Knowledge Base in Salesforce, make sure your user has “Knowledge User” enabled. See </span><span style="color: #172b4d">[Enable Lightning Knowledge and its permissions](https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SFPUBC/pages/478118066)</span><span style="color: #172b4d"> for more information.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">You must have a Salesforce Production/Developer instance that has Salesforce Knowledge already enabled. Refer to these Salesforce KB pages:</span>
  - <span style="color: #000000"> </span><span style="color: #000000">[Salesforce Knowledge availability](https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=sf.knowledge_whatis.htm&type=5)</span><span style="color: #000000"> </span>
  - <span style="color: #000000"> </span><span style="color: #000000">[Enable Lightning Knowledge](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.knowledge_lightning_enable.htm&type=5)</span>

> 📝 - Salesforce Knowledge is available in Essentials and Unlimited Editions with Service Cloud.
> 📝 - Salesforce Knowledge is available for an additional cost in Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Developer Editions.


- <span style="color: #000000">You must have API access enabled in Salesforce. Refer to this Salesforce KB - </span><span style="color: #000000">[Manage API Access](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.security_api_access_control_about.htm&type=5)</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">You will be the author of the published page in Salesforce.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">You must have "</span><span style="color: #333333">Create, Read" </span><span style="color: #000000">permissions for Knowledge articles in Salesforce. Refer to this </span><span style="color: #000000">[ Salesforce KB on Knowledge user access and permissions](https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=knowledge_setup_users_lex.htm&type=5)</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">You must have permission to all the fields in the chosen Knowledge article type. Refer to this </span><span style="color: #000000">[Salesforce KB on field-level security articles](https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=knowledge_custom_field_fls.htm&type=5)</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">You must take note of the fields available in the chosen Knowledge article type which will later be used for mapping. In this example, the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Title**</span><span style="color: #000000"> and </span><span style="color: #000000">**Answer**</span><span style="color: #000000"> fields will later be used for mapping.</span>

- <span style="color: #000000">The field that is mapped to  </span><span style="color: #000000">**Body **</span><span style="color: #000000">in Confluence must support rich text. In this example, it is the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Answer**</span><span style="color: #000000"> field, which shows a text formatting toolbar when you click on it. - <span style="color: #000000">Some Knowledge article types have the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Title**</span><span style="color: #000000"> field as mandatory. In that case, this app will prioritize that field to be filled with the title from Confluence.</span>
